WordPress is great for many web projects, but it's not the only one out there. Sometimes another CMS package might better fit the client's needs, or you may need to write one from scratch. In any case, why order a wedding cake, when all you want is muffins? A good web development company should point you in the right direction in terms of finding the right CMS, or customizing one for you.

This is why I love wordpress so much. It's so simple and effective and gets the job done so well for those who aren't developers. It's what I started out with and I always recommend it to new site owners, or someone who wants to start a new site.
